Made from 100% recycled timber, this red gum top / iron bark legs table will last for generations.

The timber used came from fence posts and railway sleepers. Both timbers are reasonably believed to have been harvested from old growth forests, possibly from trees that could have been three to four times older then European settlement to this country.

Such ancient timber is often discarded and burned or worse, sent to the tip. Its amazingly wavy grain and history lost forever.

The jar of honeycomb is a reminder that the wax we used was made locally by our backyard urban bees. The wax, mixed with organic biodynamic linseed oil will nurture the wood and allow it to age beautifully.

A bit of sanding reveals beautiful patterns. Who would have thought a dirty old fence post could hide such marvels.
