Libertas Gardens had the pleasure of collaborating with Cultivating Community to refurbish this community garden in North Melbourne.
On day 0, this is what we were looking at (click to enlarge)
A bit of heavy machinery was needed to scalp the top fertile layer of the entire area.
Once piled up neatly and left to compost, the previous neglected garden left us with a blank canvas to work from.
In just under month and over 2000 linear meters of sleepers later, the new garden was ready to be returned to its 65 families!
The keyhole gardens and wheelchairs accessible paths mean everyone can enjoy gardening!
